Welcome to SMES 2011:

With recognition from official authorities and exhibitors, SMES 2011 concluded its activities with huge success, witnessing the birth of Lebanese Security and Defense Industry.

SMES is a regional homeland security exhibition and conference that takes place biennially in Beirut, Lebanon; with the support of the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) and the Internal Security Forces (ISF).


SMES covers internal security, border security, infrastructure and critical structure security, counter terrorism, search and rescue, airport security, public safety, access control systems, information security, fire fighting and safety, hunting gear and CCTV.

SMES 2011 was visited by H.E. the President of the Lebanese Republic General Michel Suleiman and the President of the Lebanese Council of Ministers H.E. Mr. Najib Mikati, H.E. the Lebanese Minister of Defense Mr. Fayez Ghoson, LAF Commander General Jean Kahwaji, ISF Director General Maj. Gen. Ashraf Rifi and many other Lebanese political, security and business leaders as well as diplomats.

SMES 2011 embraced more than 80 exhibitors representing 180 companies from more than 20 countries, in addition to 10 delegations; more than 10,000 visitors attended the exhibition throughout the 3 days of the event.

SMES exhibitors were given the chance to meet senior military officials and delegations from all over the world. Plus, participating companies were offered exclusive press conferences with prominent media coverage.


SMES 2011 kick started on the 28th of November with a conference that was attended by highly distinguished military personnel who discussed ways to maintain security & order from a regional, local and private sector perspective; along with discussing the role of modern technologies in information security and the role of security media in directing community.

SMES attendees come from all over the globe to witness this regional event taking place in the strategic country of Lebanon.
